How To Make Raw Marinara Sauce

zucchini noodles with raw marinara

I love this sauce with zucchini noodles (find out how to make them here!) but it will work on anything. It's thick and hearty, and really delicious.

zucchini noodles with raw marinara

Place everything in the blender:

1 ripe tomato
1/2 red pepper, seeds removed
1/2 c sundried tomatoes in oil
1 small clove garlic
1 t dried basil
1 t dried oregano
1/4 t salt
2 Tb olive oil
dash pepper

Blend and toss with noodles: Making marinara has never been easier!

Since this is raw, it's best to start with a small amount of garlic, even if you really love garlic; it will overpower the other flavors if you overdo it. Fresh herbs can definitely be used instead of dried; try increasing the herbs a bit if you're using them fresh.

This looks so delicious and different! I will have to try it once we get some peppers in this summer! Thanks for sharing on FF. We may not have had many hits when you posted. Best time to enter is usually the Friday and Saturday for the best views. I keep meaning to shorten the entry so people aren't disappointed, but I am usually rushing to put it :) Hope you come join us again!

I haven't see zucchini noodles before. Would you do it with meatballs or just plain?

Mellow, this looks amazing! I'm actually planning on trying the raw zucchini pasta this week - got some fresh zukes in the fridge for that - but never even thought about pairing it with a raw sauce! Oooh, I'm so excited to try a completely raw dish! Thanks for sharing at Tiny Tip Tuesday!

You can also peel the zucchini first, so it doesn't have the green tinge, if you think that will help your kids like them.

My kids will eat anything if you give them shredded cheese to sprinkle on top ;)
I admit this is not a kid favorite around here, and our kids don't go for rich foods like Nik & I do, but my 7 year old loves this dish if it has chunks of sundried tomatoes in it.
